Over a decade ago, Messi formed a friendship with Neri Cardozo. This was when both were members of Argentina’s U-20 team. They played in the attacking line, which brought them closer.

Cardozo was called up to the Argentina national team in 2007, and his relationship with Messi continued to strengthen. Although Cardozo only played one match and never returned to the national team, he maintained contact with Messi.
