Turkish club Galatasaray are reportedly furious with their striker Mauro Icardi after he flew home to Argentina to confront his ex-wife Wanda Nara – after a video showed her kissing a rapper.

Icardi’s up and down relationship with model Nara has been well documented over the years and last month she announced the pair were finally divorcing – following allegations he had been unfaithful.

The pair came under the spotlight in October last year, when Nara left the family home in Paris after her accusations – before the two got back together.

The pair, who married in 2014, have two children together – Francesca and Isabella.

She announced her ‘painful moment’ in the revelation that she would be separating in September, before a video showed her kissing a rapper named L-Gante – with promotional art picturing them in a bed together, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Having seen the video, Icardi – who is on loan at Galatasaray from French side PSG – has now jetted back to Argentina to confront her without the permission of his club, as claimed by Radio Mitre.

The broadcaster explained that an ‘angry’ Icardi wants his ex-wife to return to Turkey and now risks having his loan at Galatasaray cut short.

‘Icardi immediately phoned Wanda, asked her to return to Turkey and put an end to this media farce,’ it claimed. ‘Mauro no longer knows what words to use: he is angry and sad at the same time.

‘Galatasaray is not happy with what the striker is doing, who risks ending his career earlier than expected.’

Icardi was later seen arriving at the hotel where Nara was staying – but he was blocked from entering by security guards at the entrance.

Complicating matters more is the fact Nara acts as Icardi’s official representative, meaning he will need to consult her on matters relating to his club and potential transfers regardless of their relationship status.

Nara was a key part in negotiating six aspects of his loan move to Galatasaray, including access to a 24-hour driver, a chef, and home security – as revealed by Sportsmail last month.

She was also involved in his move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2019, initially as a loan move, before making the switch permanent the following year.

It comes after Nara’s official announcement that the pair would be splitting and said she wanted to keep details to a minimum to protect her children.

‘It’s a painful moment,’ Nara revealed in a Spanish announcement on her Instagram stories, as reported by Football Italia. ‘But given my exposure and the media speculation that’s coming out, it’s preferable to hear it from me.

‘I have nothing to declare and I don’t want to give any details about this separation. Please understand not only for me but also for our children.’

Icardi has so far made no comment about his updated relationship status on social media platforms – having previously been critical about media gossip regarding their personal lives.

Nara was married to Maxi Lopez from 2008, but their marriage broke up in 2013 after Nara’s affair with Icardi was revealed. Nara had three sons with Lopez, before her two daughters with Icardi.

Lopez and Icardi were close friends before the incident, but relations turned sour. The 38-year-old refused to shake the hand of his old pal during two Serie A matches in 2014 and 2016.

Nara is a host on Argentina’s ‘Who is the mask?’, the localised version of ‘The Masked Singer’, and it is thought the cross-continental relationship was different for them to maintain.
